Location

The Papua New Guinea Football Association Headquarters and Academy is located at the Fenridge Estate Portion 523, 11 Mile outside of Lae, Morobe Province, along the Okuk Highway.

 

The Papua New Guinea Football Association  Headquarters and Academy was built as part of FIFA's Goal Development Project under the FIFA presidency of Joseph S. Blatter.

The Headquarters and Academy was opened on the 24th of May, 2003 by The Right Honourable Sir Michael T. Somare, GCMG CH, FIFA Representative and then OFC President Mr. Basit Scarsella and PNGFA President Mr. Madiu Andrew.

The Vision Today and Beyond

PNGFA vision is to be a leading Soccer region within the Oceania region and to start a National Semi-Pro Football league as early as possible by the year 2007. In order to achieve that vision PNGFA has to have programs orientated drive towards the vision and a need to have Corporate support for the programs.

 

A - The Objects for which the Association is established:

  1. to promote the game of association football in every way it deems fit

  2. to foster friendly relations among Members, Football Regions, and their officials and players by promoting the organization of football matches at all levels and by supporting association football by all other means which it deems appropriate

  3. to control every type of game of association football by taking steps as shall be deemed necessary or advisable for preventing infringements of:

  4. A -

    statues, regulations and standing orders of the Congress of FIFA

    B -

    the Laws of the Game as laid down by the International Football Association Board or

    C -

    these Rules/Constitution or other rules, by-laws and regulations of the Association
  5. to prevent the introduction of other improper methods or practices in the game of association football, and to protect it from abuses by being diligent in ensuring that:

    A -

    there is no discrimination against a Member, Football Region, Club, Team or an Individual for reasons of race, culture, religion or politics

    B -

    a Member that tolerates, allows, organizes or participates in competitions in which discrimination is practiced

    shall not be admitted to the Association or shall be expelled if it is already a Member

    C -

    a Member, Football Region, club or team when applying to take part in a competition, or deciding to organize

    one, shall give written undertakings and assurances to the Association that the provisions of these rules or

    Constitution and other rules, by-laws and regulations of the Association will be respected.

  1. to provide, by means of other rules, by-laws and regulations, principles for settling any differences that may arise between or among Members, Football Regions, clubs, teams or individuals

  2. to discuss and consider the interests of Members and Football Regions, questions concerning and affecting the common and separate interests of the Members and Football Regions and to collect and disseminated from time to time information on matters affecting the Members and Football Regions

  3. to communicate the opinion of Members separately or collectively to any government or to the various departments thereof, by letter, memorial deputation or otherwise

  4. to petition Parliament or any provincial legislative assembly on any matters affecting Members collectively or separately

  5. to originate and promote improvements in the laws affecting the interests of Members and Football Regions and to support or oppose alterations therein, and to effect improvements in administration, and to promote or oppose legislation and other measures affecting Members and Football Regions and to take such other steps and proceedings as may be deemed expedient

  6. to diffuse information on all matters affecting Members and Football Regions and to collect and circulated statistics and other information that may be of particular interest to any of the Members and Football Regions or any legislation affecting any of them

  7. to ensure that the funds of the Association are to be used firstly in attaining these objects and thereafter remaining invested by the Executive Committee as it so determines in accordance with these Rules/Constitution and the Act and

    1. to do all such things as are incidental or conductive to the attainment of the above objects or any of them

    b - The Association shall apply its profits (if any) or other income in

           promoting its objects.

    c - The Association shall prohibit the payment of any dividend or

         payment in the nature of dividend to its Members
