Coaching Accreditation Structure

Papua New Guinea Football Association (PNGFA) adopted a new Coaching Accreditation Structure established by the current administration in 2005. A Coaching Education Programs was also developed and established to go along with the coaching structure. The coaching education program best suits the PNGFA Coaches structure where the kind of coaching education is provided in line with that of OFC.

Recruitment and retention of Coaches

  • open invitations are advertised to the public to apply for coaching courses to be conducted by PNGFA
  • applicants are screened and the selection  is done
  • successful applicants attend to course
  • course attendants sit for an examinations at the end of the course which decides  their success
  • sometimes a local association can request PNGFA for a course instructor to run introductory a basic coaching course or clinic in the association.
  • the coaching courses are designed in conjunction with the accreditation Coaching structure.

The senior coaching Certificate and the Instructors Certificate courses were done but certificates were not issued. The coaches await the certificates from OFC.
