PNGFA to visit members. Wednesday, June 03,2009

For the first of its kind in the history of PNG football, the Papua New Guinea Football Association (PNGFA) secretariat will visit its local member associations in the country.

PNGFA is taking this as a positive step to create a collaborative effort in developing relationships with the member associations and enhance corporation to develop the game in the country. It is part of the PNGFA’s new plans to work very closely with the member associations to assist them develop football from their end.

“Developing Football for Collective Benefits” as the theme of the visit will benefit the members when PNGFA visits them one-by-one to sit with them and discuss their problems and difficulties faced by the associations every year.

PNGFA consultant David Brand will head the visiting team from the PNGFA secretariat together with a representative from OFC who is yet to be named.

The visiting team will discuss football issues affecting the member association in the areas of administration, technical, competitions, clubs structures and most importantly player development.

The main aim of the visit is to professionalize football administration by making sure all the member associations have a standard and a quality administration in place.  It is also to establish an effective relationship through which the member associations can corporate and work together hand in hand with PNGFA to move PNG football forward.

The PNGFA secretariat office has already informed the member associations of the visitation by the secretariat in an earlier circular. Any internal problem pertaining to administration of the association could also be mediated during the visit.

The secretariat had, through the circular requested the member associations to submit a suitable date applicable in which PNGFA can visit them. To date, only Madang, Enga, Wau and Mt. Hagen Soccer Associations have informed the secretariat of their suitable dates while the others are yet to do so.

The member associations who have not yet informed the secretariat of their suitable date for the visit are now urged to inform the secretariat at their earliest possibilities so that PNGFA can speed up all formalities for the visit.
