The National Soccer League in conjunction with FIFA/OFC is conducting an "Elite Referees" course which started Tuesday, 27 October and ends on Thursday 29 October, 2009.
According to the competitions manager, Edward Tauloi there will be more than twenty (20) referees and assistant referees that will be taking part.
Out of this, there are two female referees, Stephanie Minan and Watin Yagum who will attend.
All referees in order to qualify had to be tested using the FIFA fitness test, which was carried out in Lae and Port Moresby by PNGFA's Referees Development Officer, Taku Niebo, last week.
Tauloi said the course was to prepare the referees for the National Soccer League duties.
The best twenty (20) referees will be selected from this course to take up the refereeing duties of the National Soccer League.
The course facilitators will be Massimo Raveino -FIFA/OFC Referee Development Officer and Neil Poloso -FIFA Referee's Instructor.
