Striker Kema Jack worked well in the front line on the day with former Hekari United player Maciu Dunadamu to win their first game which was witnessed by the 15, 000 home fans who were present on the day.
The PNG striker has speed and can work his way through gaps. Kema scored the second goal to seal the result in the second half.
Wira on their other hand also is doing his part with former team mate Pita Bolatoga making a good combination in middle third, denying their opponents any chance of setting up their strikers.
Dunadamu scored the second goal for Labasa to put the team in frtont as they started their title defence.
Jack and nipy midfielder, Wira Wama joined Labasa for the Battle of the Giants tournament.
Both players were part of the PNG team that took part in the OFC Nations Cup in Solomon Islands.
Wama combined with fellow team mate Pita Bolaitoga in the midfield.
Team Manager of Labasa FC said he was particularly impressed with Wira’s mesmerizing skills that sent the crowd into frenzy.
“I have never seen such skills displayed by a Papua New Guinean and both Wira and Jack have made PNG Football proud in Labasa,” Prasad said.
Labasa’s next match will be played on Thursdayin Churchill Park, Lautoka, Central Fiji where they take on Nadroga.
