MERI FUTBOL LAUNCHED IN ENGA

With the assistance from FIFA through PNGFA is complimenting affiliated Member Associations who are proactively involved with development programs.

Wabag School Soccer Association together with Enga Football Association have being involved in organising School competition since 2005.

PNGFA Technical Director Taku Niebo said with support from FIFA and PNGFA through the Meri Futbal competition provides uniforms, football boots, shin pads, socks and balls to teams who participate in the competition.

A total 8 schools within Wabag District were provide with equipment and materials to take part in the competition.

Head Teachers and students from the participating schools turned up on the day for the presentation of the Football equipment/materials and witnessed the opening game of the competition.

The first game of the competition kicked off between Sari Primary School and the host School Wabag Primary with a nil all score-line.

Coordinator of Wabag School Soccer, Paul Taule and Chairman Mr Mark Sakol were pleased and thanked FIFA and PNGFA for the provision of materials and equipment for the competition.

The competition games will be played at Wabag Primary School and will run for 7 months.
