The event will take place in the month of July and September during the school holidays.
Madang will host the Under 17 & 20 Men’s tournament from the 11 – 16 July at the Laiwaden Oval, Madang. LFA will host the Under 20 women while Lahi Football Association will stage the Under 16 Women which takes place during the school holidays in late September at two different venues.
Last year’s youth tournaments were a major success. The Under 16 Women championships was held in Lae at the University of Technology soccer field with six teams participating and home team LFA came out winners of the tournament last September and PNGFA is proud to stage this year’s event with the aim of involving players at youths level every year, giving them a chance to represent our country in international championships.
Papua New Guinea Football Association in its effort to identify and improve football talents in the country is staging youth championships on an annual basis which the 2011 was staged at the PNG University of Technology soccer grounds. In the finals Lahi Football Association turned out to be the champion team of the tournament after claiming an 8- 1 victory over Lae School.
Nomination fees are now due for every team taking part which can be deposited to PNGFA’s Operation account
