PNGFA Elite Academy coaches and LFA referees with the help from the teachers run the trial to identify the best potential talented players to put them in the elite academy program.
Sports Master for Ten City Primary School Mr Rudolf Fred said its best that PNGFA has bring these young players from different schools to play together and identify their potential in playing football and develop them to be future representatives of the country.
“We teachers and also parents are proud of this program and what it has provided for our young children,” said Fred.
“On behalf of all the schools I would like to thank the sponsor SVS/Da Edge and really appreciate your support because without you the program won’t eventuate,” he added.
There were over 200 young boys under the age of 16 from ten schools with their teachers turned up for the trial. Each school form two teams each and are permitted to have 10 players per team. Matches were played 7 v 7 with a goal keeper.
The identified potential players will be called up for another trial at the PNGFA Football Academy to pick the final 30 players for the Elite Academy program.
