The event will take place in the month of June and July during the school holidays.
NCD PSSA will host the Under 15 & 18 Women’s tournament from the 30th June – 4th July at the IPA Oval, Port Moresby. Wau SA will host the Under 16 & 19 Men from 7th – 11th July 2014. The tournament will be called 2014 Niugini Tablebirds National Youth Tournament.
Last year’s youth tournaments were a major success. The Under 15 & 20 Women championships was held in Lae at the LFA Soccer Ground and the U17 & 20 Men was held in Goroka at NSI and team Madang came out winners of the tournament.
PNGFA is proud to stage this year’s event with the aim of involving players at youth level every year, giving them a chance to represent our country in international championships.
Papua New Guinea Football Association in its effort to identify and improve football talents in the country is staging youth championships on an annual basis.
PNG Football Association CEO/General Secretary Dimirit Mileng said the secretariat would expect that NCD PSSA and Wau SA to appoint a Local Organising Committee for the preparation of the tournament, and appreciate detail of the committee membership including contacts are forwarded within the next 14 days to the office of the General Secretary.
“The Secretariat office will liase closely with the LOC to make this a worthwhile experience for everyone who participates in the tournament,” said Mileng.
