This year marks another year of delivering Just Play to young children around the country equipping them with the knowledge to battle the various social problems which are affecting them in their daily lives.
Just Play is an Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) initiative which promotes physical activity for primary school-aged children while encouraging community involvement and healthy living through football.
More than thirty people from 20 schools around NCD received their certificates last Friday after completing the workshop.
The focus now is to see the participants deliver the programme to their students using the knowledge and skills they have learnt during the workshop. The programme will be implemented and run using the Just Play equipment issued by the Just Play programme.
Each participant will be monitored and evaluated by the Just Play team for six weeks with reports on the outcome of the programme following its completion.
Just Play has already been launched in four centres of the country and those who have yet to see it in action first-hand are looking forward to getting in on the act.
OFC has worked closely with UEFA, the Government of Australia – through its agencies the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) and the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) – and Football Federation Australia (FFA), to roll out the programme across the Pacific.
