Kimbe set for NGI Besta Cup

The Kimbe team from Kimbe Soccer Association has been preparing for this tournament for over three weeks by playing trial matches amongst themselves to selects its strong side.

Head Coach Steven Dube said he is looking at finalizing his team on Wednesday and so far impress with his players performance during the past weeks.

Some of the cream of their talents in young striker Brendan Ben of Besta PNG United FC, defender Issac Torot of Hekari United FC and veteran Vincent Sili with few raw talented players like Alisa Pau, John Mota, Bati Luke and Greg that will form a formidable unit in Manus.

The NGI leg clash in the Besta FA Cup will be a competition between champions Manus and Kimbe who are shaping up to be a team to beat this year.

The Kimbe select side was picked from the Provincial Soccer League in the A-League competition and its main purpose is to bring the boys together to give opportunities to talented and prospect players.

Kimbe has been known in producing some of the country’s best players in the likes of Philip Raga, David Muta, Cyril Muta, Wira Wama, just to name a few.

The team is now calling on business houses in Kimbe town to support the team for this sanctioned PNGFA tournament to be hosted by Manus Soccer Association in Manus Province from 25-28 August 2015.

In the bid prior to the player’s selection, the Possibles side proved too strong to hammer the Probable with a resounding 4-3 victory at Kimbe Soccer Association oval last Friday.
