Also present on the occasion was PNGFA President David Chung, who also thanked IFC for supporting football in the country and development of our youths of today with its theme “Raising tomorrow’s champions”.
Representing Oceania Football Confederation, General Secretay, Tai Nicholas speaks on behalf of the Oceania region stressing that these initiatives are just few of President Chung visions of using football in partnership with sponsors to generate revenue.
The Besta FA Cup 2012 season received the second sponsorship of K150, 000.00 from major sponsor, International Food Corporation during the ceremony for the upcoming 2012 season scheduled to start in October.
Football is focusing on lifting the standard of the Besta FA Cup to the same standard as the National Soccer League however the FA Cup is for member associations to show their plights with proofs of their skills and performance results on the field.
Sales and Marketing Manager of IFC Roslan Wahed, in his speech said he believes in giving somethingback to the community, not only for the game but also using that as a marketing tool to sell their product- Besta.
“As part of our Corporate Responsibility, we believe a sponsor is a way forward to develop our young talents in soccer,” says Roslan.
Teams will be taking part in all four regions of the country to play the regional qualifiers from 18th to 21st and 26th- 28th October to enter for the semi finals. Both semi finals and the grand final will be staged in Lae with the semis scheduled to take place on November 1st which will be followed by the finals on 3rd November 2012.
