After a successful 2-day workshop of the grassroots program held in Port Moresby last week, the grassroots programme, Just play was officially launched at the PNG Football Academy in Lae today following a workshop.
A total of eighteen participants from Lae and Madang, out of the total, 4 are from Madang attended the two-day workshop.
According to the Manager, Taku Niebo, the program in Port Moresby last year involving nineteen schools has been a success and the growing interest nationwide has promoted the course to spread to other centers this year which saw Lae to launch the program successfully starting with the workshop.
A total of 18 participants from Lae and Madang attended the two day workshop that will end with the workshop participants receiving their certificates enabling them to run the program in their respective schools.
There are 12 schools that are taking part, the students from these schools will also benefit as the Just Play Program will be giving sporting kits to all the schools donated by the Australian government, AusAid.
After the workshop, the teachers will be well prepared to run the sessions with their students in their respective schools as a pilot project for six weeks which is part of the evaluation process to be monitored by the Just Play Department.
Meanwhile, in Port Moresby, the Just play Instructors visited several schools this week to handover their sporting kits.
