PNG have announced Garem Alwin Komolong and Aryton Yagas captain and vice captain respectively of the Under 17 Men’s National Football Team. Both players have demonstrated leadership qualities over the last six weeks during the preparation for the tournament. The announcement was made last Sunday at Port Moresby’s Telikom Oval, Bisini.
Komolong is a current NSL player with Besta FC playing striker, while Yagas played this season with POMSSOE (Port Moresby Schools: School of Excellence). Aryton is currently taking the backline while Alwin in the frontline as striker in the U17 team.
Head coach John Davani continues to push the players physically and mentally in preparation for the upcoming championship in Auckland. The team is scheduled to fly out on Thursday morning and due to arrive in Auckland at midnight.
