Bara eye second title

Reigning Ox & Palm Women’s National Soccer League premiers Bara host Port Moresby conference champions Mungkas FC tomorrow at Sir Ignatius Kilage Stadium in Lae.

Bara with Pacific Games gold medalist and striker, Zeena Limbai are in a strong position to defend their title again this seaon with the home ground factor likely to be the difference between the two teams.

Bara enter the matches as slight favourites with an experienced XI but will need to be at their best to keep an inform Mungkas from pulling off an upset.

The Lae champions trailed their Lae rivals Poro during the regular season but ambuished them 3-1 last weekend to book a place in the finals.

Despite the slow start to the season, Bara seem to be peaking at the right time towards the final rounds.

Mungkas captain Catherine Horris and striker, Fatima Rama are the potential winners and the fortunes of the visitors rest on both national representatives. Mungkas, who debuted in the WNSL this year have surpassed all expectations going unbeaten in their conference, seeing off strong challenges from established clubs University Inter and Vats Yamaros.

Mungkas coach Clement Cafu Anisan has at his disposal other representative players and Morobe natives Dorcas Sesevo, Lydia Banabas and Lavinia Hola who will support Rama and Hola in their attempt to wrest the title in enemy territory.
