Inspiring youth to think big

As seen Niugini Tablebirds has been supporting PNG Football, focusing on improving the standard of women participation in football in all age groups.

NCD PSSA will host the 2014 Tablebirds National Youth Championship for women Under 15 & 18 at the Institute of Public Administration Oval. The tournament will take place during the term three school holiday week.

PNGFA General Secretary/CEO, Mr Dimirit Mileng said the date proposed earlier in July has not been accepted by participating teams and the new date has now been set to 15th to 19th September 2014.

“All participating teams should take note of the new date and prepare accordingly to attend the championship,” said Mileng.

The mission of the championship is to develop and deliver quality youth football to girls at young age to build their interest and also create pathways for future stars. It is also another way of promoting a fun and family atmosphere.

The championship involves young girls to show their talents and skills but most importantly keep fit and live a healthy lifestyle.

The annual women football tournaments have seen a lot of new breeds being recognised but there is more to work on these young girls to improve.
