Goroka Soccer Association (GSA) earned a spot in Lae after winning the Highlands Regional Besta Cup qualifier at Dickson Oval in Simbu on Sunday.
Apo one won the grand final, edging Apo two 1-0 to advance to the next stage of the tournament in September in Lae.
The pre-tournament favourite struggled in the opening half before went on to score in the second half.
Despite going down to their team one, Apo two proved to their seniors that they are not by fluke in the finals.
In the women’s grand final, Goroka capitalized on Tabare’s fatigue to score 1 goal to claim the women’s title.
Simbu Soccer Association president Diana Uran thank all the participating teams and the host association for hosting a successful and trouble free four-day tournament.
PNG Football Association competition manager Simon Koima confirmed that all regions have completed their games with the winners announced.
Goroka men will now join Momase winners Almami, runners-up Morobe Football Association, Southern winners Hoods, runners-up Kamali and NGI winner Kimbe for the Besta FA Cup finals.
While Goroka women will join Momase winner, Morobe Football Association, NGI winner, Kimbe and Southern winner, Port Moresby Soccer Association.
