Kapuls to start preparation for Solomon’s clash

THE Papua New Guinea senior men’s national team will reconvene in Port Moresby on Sunday 21 May for their final preparation before they face Solomon Islands on June 9 at Lawson Tama Stadium in Honiara.

It is only 22 more days until PNG face the Bonitos in what would be a test of the nation’s credibility as a genuine contender in Pacific soccer.

After doing well against Tahiti in the first home and away, Serritslev said the new players have adapted well to their playing style.

With regard to his small men in the midfield, Serritslev said they are an important cog to their progress. “They are reliable and a very importance force to the team,” he added.

“PNG want to live up to their name — their legacy. The 24 players who are coming for the training camp are betting on confidence and teamwork, even though they know that the odds are against them.”

The side will be bolstered with the presence of 8 overseas-based players: Nigel Dabinyaba, Roland Bala, Alwin Komolong, David Browne, Aaron Spain, George Slefendorfas, Jamie Woodlock and Michael Foster.
