The Local Organising Committee is pleased to announce catering service contracts for VIP’s during the upcoming FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
The VIP & Corporate catering contracts were signed yesterday (Tuesday, 11 October) by two of Port Moresby’s leading hoteliers and restaurateurs.
Lamana Hotel and Beachside Brasserie will provide high quality food and beverage to all local and international VIPs and Corporate guests throughout the three-week tournament starting next month.
Local Organising Committee, Chief Executive Officer Seamus Marten, says both companies have fulfilled all of FIFA’s requirements in terms of food range and specifications during their successful taste testing sessions.
“As you know, the world will be coming to PNG so it’s important our caterers are able to provide special dietary requirements and also give our international visitors a sampling of our local cuisine,” Marten said.
General Manager for Beachside Brasserie, Antoinette Mapai said their restaurant has been involved in a lot of events including the recent Pacific Games last year and it was an honour for them to be catering during this international event.
Hotel’s assistant hotel manager, Jacquie Simons thanked the LOC for giving them the opportunity to showcase their international and local cuisines to the VIPs and corporate clients that will be at the tournament.
“Not a lot of people know that we offer catering services and we are looking forward to impressing our international guests,” Simons said.
