Madang eye U17 Youth Festival

Madang Soccer Association have finalized their youth teams for both boys and girls to participate in the PNGFA U17 Youth Festival which kicks of tomorrow and ends Saturday at PNGFA Academy in Lae.

MSA general secretary Conrad Wadunah said their aim was to win the championship in both divisions which was why their selected players from the town competition.

“Madang Soccer Association has a strong youth competition and has performed well in the previous PNGFA-sanctioned youth tournaments so we’re looking to maintain that,” Wadunah said.

“The majority of players in our teams are first timers to the youth festival except for Jason Wadunah and Ishmael Yopiyopi.

Jason and Ishmael played in the U15 National Youth tournament in Madang in 2015 with the Madang School Centre of Excellence when they were both eleven years old.

“Both Jason and Ishmael will now lead Madang to the Youth festival in the midfield and will be supported by Tusbab Blue Kumuls club mates, Tuvirapa Ado and James Sigi Beschel up front.

Northern Conference will be the first to get their festival underway starting tomorrow while the Southern Conference will kick off on the 3-7 July 2018 which will held in Port Moresby.

Madang U17 Girls: Emma Kurabi, Mula Kila, Galiki Kig, Madlyn Dambui, Joy Maneu, Jacklyn Sirangu, Tephanie Minel, Maree Wadunah, Carlisha Awele, Franklyn Makora, Sheekinah Kig, Christine Maneu, Yvonne Awasi, Bila Wani, Gloria Robert, Sapar Mani, Anita Kas, Tracey Romo, Lorna Kaku, Valari Mopa, Claudia Wadunah.
