Madang Soccer Association will host its grand finals for the 2018 season on Saturday at Laiwaden Oval in Madang starting at 9:00 am in the morning.
The U-16 division final will kick off the day’s event with the two neighboring compound fighting for supremacy. Tusbab Blue Kumuls FC who are boosted by three PNG U16 players up against a raw talented side Centres FC of Admin compound.
Kumuls will be relying on the experience of PNG U16 players in Jason Akaya Wadunah, Morris Devi and captain Butler Bossi Hosea, while Centres will be led by Joe ‘Lida’ Alex, who can cause an upset in the midfield. In the play off for third and fourth placing will see Watagum and Pendamon.
In the Men’s C division, the boys from the Wali country, Uhudid will play against Logaw for the title and Watagum will take on Binen while in the Men’s B Division, Centres will play Nabasa.
The contest for the queen of Madang Soccer Association will be between the Rumona Morris led Nabasa and Tracey Kig coached Kula United.
Rumona will be supported by Lace Kunei who will be at the defensive line to see off attacks from the Kig sisters, Paulanne and Tracey while for the 3rd and 4th playoff will be contested evenly between Tusbab Blue Kumuls and Centres.
The main game of the day will see two of the most consistent team of the competition, Wagsford take on Tusbab Blue Kumuls for the top honours of the association.
Tusbab Blue Kumuls who finished the normal competition round as the minor premier will be out to prove their ‘worthiness’ against Wagsford, a team that usually comes from behind to cause upsets.
Rachael Wadunah coached-side Tusbab Blue Kumuls will be led by Nigel Malagian and supported by Richie Apisa, Nolan Samar and Nathan Kell in the backline while Max Sengum, Ricky Wadunah and Stahl Gubag will control the midfield.
Wagsford coach, Darryl Ken will need Darren Steven and Francis Kawol in the midfield to shut down play from Tusbab Blue Kumuls if they need to win the title of the premier club of MSA.
Madang Soccer Association President Siegfried Beschel acknowledged the support of all stakeholders who have contributed to support Madang Soccer Association and the development of soccer in Madang.

Beschel also extend his gratitude to all the teams that have made it into the finals.
