NSL feast for Lae fans

FANS in Morobe will have feast of football when the National Soccer League hosts a triple header at the PNGFA Academy in 11 Mile on Saturday.

In the opening match, PNGFA Development team Besta PNG United will host newcomers Vitis Yamaros followed by Western Highlands-based Buang FC take on reigning champion Lae City Dwellers FC. The main game at 3pm, vastly improved Madang FC and PS Huawei should be a thriller.

The Madang after their last weekend’s 1-1draw against Lae City Dwellers, see them enter the match posing a credible threat to the table leaders.

PS coach Peter Purari will be counting on Donovan Murray and Jordan Kaven to lead the charge. As for Madang’s chances, it will depend on how skipper Max Sengum leads a determined team with the assistant of Samuel Kini, Hanson Topio, Felix Komolong and Emmanuel Airem, who must win this game.

Another interesting clash should see reigning champions Lae City Dwellers take on Buang FC. After a 1-1 draw with Madang last weekend, it will be a different story when the reigning champions face-off with Buang in front of a patriotic Morobe crowd.

While Besta coach Harrison Kamake after a disappointing loss last weekend, will be looking to polish his troops to take them through against visiting Port Moresby-based Vitis Yamaros FC. Kamake’s coached side are mostly U17 players who took part in the OFC U17 Championships early this year.

This weekend’s draw:

Saturday 10am: Besta PNG United FC vs Vitis Yamaros FC

Saturday 1230pm: Lae City Dwellers FC vs Buang FC

Saturday 1500pm: PS Huawei FC vs Madang FC
