NSL Finals push back

The National Soccer League finals have been pushed back by a week to allow for three washed out matches to be played.

NSL manager Leslie Babaga said the semi-final will now be played on May 20 while the grand-final will on the following weekend on May 26.

“NSL has decided to play the semi-final on May 20 to give enough time for the teams playing their washed out matches to prepare well for the semi-final,” he said.

Babaga also confirmed that five teams; Toti City FC, FC Morobe Wawens, Besta PNG United FC, Madang FC and Southern Strikers FC out of seven, have fully settled their affiliation fees to date.

The nine remaining washed out matches will be forfeited due to FC Momase and Buang FC failing to meet their financial obligations.

The points will be given to the teams that have settled their affiliation fees.
Currently leading the NSL points ladder is Toti City FC 32, FC Morobe Wawens 21, Madang FC 20, Besta PNG United 18 and Southern Strikers 11.

All washed out matches including the finals will be played in Lae.
