NSL ready to roll

THERE will be more room for Papua New Guinea’s elite soccer talent to test themselves when the 2017-2018 National Soccer League season kicks off next month.

The country’s top domestic soccer competition is set to kick-off on December 16 with twelve franchises have shown interest.

The 12 franchises include last season minor premiers Lae City Dwellers, runner-up Madang FC, Besta PNG United FC, Morobe Football Association, Eastern Stars, Unitech, Simbu Rocks, Central, Southern Strikers, Oro, Manus and Erema Gulf.

Madang, Besta and LCD are seasoned campaigners while the other nine franchises are newcomers who have shown interest.

The National Soccer League has called on clubs intending to submit an EOI will be required to attend a managers/franchise owners meeting in Port Moresby next week.

The 3 main agenda to be discussed during the meeting are:

1)    Revised Regulations

2)    Format and

3)    Calendar
