The Port Moresby Soccer Association is kicking off its Easter football challenge this weekend in a seven aside three-day tournament starting today at Bisini Soccer Ground.
The Easter Challenge, which was launched last year is becoming an annual soccer event on the PMSA calendar and is open to all affiliated clubs the association.
Competition manager Paul Karambi said the concept was adapted and launched last year to keep the PMSA membership and its players busy in the long weekend.
“It will be seven a-side competition playing seven minutes each half using the full length of the pitch. Teams are placed in pools and the top two in each pool for respective divisions will play-off to find winners to proceed into the finals.
The men’s division has 32 teams split into eight pools and the women’s division has eight teams split into two pools.
The tournament will continue on Saturday, with the play-offs and presentation to take place on Sunday.”
“We just want to bring all the PMSA teams together to play and celebrate Easter through football,” Karambi said.
