Gulf Komara FC Coach David Aua announced his stand-down from coaching duties and named stalwart Steven Mune as his successor after his team lost 3 -0 to Tusbab Stallions in Madang on Saturday.
” Our franchise will do better after this change. I will concentrate on managing the team only.’ Mr. Aua said.
Mr. Aua who was a former PNG National Goal Keeper for almost 20 years until recently said he will “give Steven “stiggy Mune, while he concentrates as the franchise manager.
Meanwhile, Stallions’s Coach Rachael Wadunah and team manager Juanita Tawi celebrated a well earned victory when striker Stahl Gubag fired home a special double delivery to clinch victory from the crocodiles from Gulf.
Gubag unleashed his first just within the-18-yards box in the 27th minute of the game set up the victory before going on to score again in the second half to make it 2-0 and propelled himself as the present leading scorer by 5 goals after round four of the Kumul Petroleum NSL competition.
The third goal was confirmed through a gift penalty shot taken by Ephraim Leo and incurred by a goal infringement by Komara FC goak keeper.
Komara, midfield spearheaded by former Stallions’ captain Max Sengum could not find the stamina needed to equal Stallions relentless forward surge and the match ended at 3-0
Coach David Aua said after that the game was lost as the tormenting Madang heat and humidity took its toll on his players.
” It the first time my boys played under such punishing heat. We came in and needed to score first. That did not happen, and following that nothing positive happened for us.”
While Stallions are closer to enjoying a purple-patch in their game, Komara have lost four games on the trot.
Komara wing-man Jamal Seeto and Sengum played well but opposites in Stallions’ Wadunah Brothers, Ricky and Jason, along with Ephraim Leo and Gubab were better.
Leo scored the Stallions third goal from a penalty infringement to end the game with three goals to nill.
Stallions coach, Rachael Wadunah is content with the victory and promises to deliver another entertainer when the Madang boys clash with Hekari FC next Saturday in Port Moresby.
” I am now going to concentrate on the job up front. We must produce fire in our finishing shots. To play Hekari is our great pleasure. We will be ready for that game come Saturday, she told this paper.
In another development in Madang Soccer, the local Television Station “Tumbuna TV” launched a trial telecast of the match between Stallions and Komara at the Laiwaden Oval last Saturday. Tumbuna TV’s Anchor-man Christopher Seeto said the broadcast can be received around the world on YouTube and Face Book.
