Toti City FC secured their 3rd minor premiership of the National Soccer League after finishing first with 32 points on the competition ladder.
The Lae Biscuit sponsored team continue to set the benchmark for soccer in Papua New Guinea by dominating the 2018 National Soccer League competition.
Having an unbeaten run after 12 games, the Peter Gunemba-coached side have one more objective – to retain the NSL premiership.
“We have achieved our first goal to win the minor premiership but we have one goal in the NSL and that is to retain our title,” Gunemba said.
“I’m so proud of the players. We’ve achieved what we set out to do, topping the competition ladder this year and to secure another premiership title is something we are pleased with and can hold our heads up at achieving.”
“So we want to thank God for his guidance and protection all through our games. We also would like to thank our major sponsor Lae Biscuit Company and we dedicate the minor premiership to them.”
Toti City’s minor premiership also automatically qualifies them to participate in the OFC Champions League 2019 for the fourth time.
The Gunemba’s coached side will make this their fourth appearance in the region’s premier international club competition.
